Installing the switch panel / dash
Install is pretty much the reverse of removal.
Place the dash into the hole. Make sure all of the electrical plugs are within reach and close to the hole.
In some cases you may want to either tape a string or small wire to the plug so you can fish it back through the hole.
The hazard light and onstar plugs can get lost in the rats nest.
As you are lining up the dash to push it in, you need to check the left and center vent tubes and make sure they are lined up right as well.
There is felt on them to help them stay in place as you press in the dash.
Once you press in the dash and make sure everything is lined up properly then screw it down.
Then plug everything back in.
Be sure to really push in the radio as sometimes the connection can be iffy causing bad radio reception or sound cut outs.
The last step is replacing the switch stalks and steering column covers.
To remove and replace the dash should only take about an hour for the first time and probably 15-20 minutes for an experienced pro.
Once everything is back together, go ahead and test out all of the switches to make sure everything is plugged in properly.
